Face washing Techniques
Washing your face is a very helpful way of preventing acne from occurring. Many people experiencing acne will already be washing and cleansing their face with some kind of acne treatment cleanser, but it is important to know the do’s and don’ts when it comes to washing your face for acne.
Don’t Irritate your Acne
Your facial skin is already very sensitive, and having acne does not help the situation much. It is important that you don’t further irritate the skin. Although it is sometimes frustrating to have acne appear at inconvenient times, you don’t want to aggressively attack your acne with numerous products that will only in the end cause further inflammation or even scarring.
Use an Acne Regimen
If you are not already on an acne treatment regimen, have a look at the Tri-Clear acne system which is the first thing we recommend to everyone. There are numerous great acne products and acne medicines on the market today that help and even be the solution to your acne problem. You should also know, however that there are just as many, if not knot more bad products that may yield little to no results. How to Wash your Face
Once you have found an acne face wash that is right for your skin, read the directions and make sure you know the recommended amounts to use. Don’t go overboard and use way too much as many acne products contain chemicals that will irritate the skin if used in excess.
Wet and dampen the skin with warm water prior to washing to loosen skin and pores so that your face wash can do what it needs to do.
Always just use clean hands to wash your face. There is no need to scrub your skin with any washcloths or sponges that will only collect bacteria when not in use. Using only your hands is sufficient, let your acne face wash do the work - it will remove any dirt and oil on your face.
Don’t Over-wash your face. It is recommended that you only wash your face twice a day - once in the morning, and again before bed. Washing your skin too much may cause your facial skin you dry which in turn will only cause a reaction of more oily skin.
Gently dry your face with a clean towel. Never rub your face dry after washing, again, this will only cause further irritation and possibly the transfer of bacteria.
At this point, if you have any acne medicine to apply to your acne, do so now while your skin is still damp (not wet).
You have now successfully washed your face.
