Can I cover blemishes with makeup?
It is tempting, when acne breakouts occur, to simply cover them with makeup. Although this is an easy fix that may help cover ugly redness, it is best to avoid heavy amounts of makeup to avoid causing further acne breakouts.
If you are using makeup, or any kind of cosmetics on acne prone skin, be absolutely sure that the makeup states ‘non-comedogenic’. This means that it does not contain oils that will only add to the problem.
Powder makeups should always be preferred over cream makeups since they will be less likely to interfere with skin pores and acne healing.
